It is paid for

Psalm 111:9

He has paid a full ransom for His people.

He has guaranteed His Covenant with them forever.
What a Holy, awe-inspiring Name He has!

On The Cross facing the world with tears in His Eyes

The Lord hung between Heaven and earth hidden in time.

With wounds in His Hands and nails through His Feet

Blood running down His Face and from His Side that was pierced.

In our heart we see a trace of this scene

Carved in our memory when He died to redeem

The sponge we pushed with a stick in His Face

Laughing and pointing as He died to give us Grace

Why did He die facing the world He prayed?

“Father, forgive them”, is all He would say

“Don’t repay them for how they behave

Their blindness to sin has them enslaved”

“Show them later the depths of My Love

And all the purpose and reason thereof”

“Do not turn them away as they in disgust

Spill My Blood to fulfill their own lust”

If Christ had turned when on The Cross

And turned His Back to us all would be lost

Where He was beaten with a merciless whip

Until no skin was left and had no more to give

As we stabbed Him in heart calling Him names

And full of hate spit out the depths of our shame

Not seeing “Grace and Love” of the Living God

And the plan of Salvation sent from above

He did not share with us His deeper feelings

Only the fullness love as He wanted to heal us

To save us from self and complete degradation

To embrace us in peace and offer Salvation

To dwell with His “Father” and “Family” forever

Where no sorrows or pain are there ever to suffer

In the presence of our Father far beyond creation

To the Glory and newness of Life’s participation
