It Begins Here

You open

and

you close on me.

You slam

and

you lock from me,

Safe

and strong,

you baulk from me.

Shamed

and scared,

you walk from me.

Come back.

Come finish this fight.

I swear,

this will end tonight.

I don’t care what you think

-I don’t care what you hear-

But what I know now,

 is that you’re nowhere near…

Knowing me.

And I’m finally done.

I look around me,

and no one’s won.

And that’s the end,

I’m turning those corners.

I’m around the bend,

and I’m one of the foreigners,

I’ll come out of this,

well, and

alive.

And I won’t just endure;

I will blossom, and

thrive.
