IT

The darkness comes across and wraps around me

Suffocating me and breaking my bones

Shivers run down my spine

IT grasps me so tightly

and I try to respire

My instinct tells me to fight

But I let IT consume me

Let IT spread across my body and mark me

I can’t breathe

I can't focus

I chose not to fight

I do not gasp for air

And I do not care

I hear some voices around me telling me to come back

But I just stand there and let IT caress me

My vision starts to blur

All I see is IT

I clench at my chest

My heart races as I feel IT invade my body

tightening the hold on me

IT has grown into a penumbra

As IT devours me whole

And we become one

I honestly loved this poem. It reminds me of one I did quite similar to this. If you would like, you can check it out. It's called My Sickness (IT). Also feel free to join our group, Diverse Poetry. We are always looking for critique and new things to read.

Thanks so much! I'll definitely check it out!
