Iron Fist

THE HEART OF RAGE POUNDED,

THE EYES OF A DEMON SCREAMED,

THE MIND OF ONE'S OWN GREW DARK,

BUT THE SOUL, STILL PURE, GAVE A DREAM.

AND AS THE MIND OF ONE'S OWN GREW DARKER,

AND THE BIRDS BEGAN TO FLEE,

I HEARD THE IRON FIST OF A DRAGON,

AND A SONG IT'S FIRE SINGS.

THE IRON FIST GAVE A KNOCK  AND CHILDREN BEGAN TO SHOUT

FOR THE FIST OF IRON WAS EVIL AND THEY WERE ALL DOWN FOR THE COUNT.

TEN TIMES THE FIST OF IRON POUNDED, TEN TIMES FOR EACH A HUNDRED OF THEIR SINS.

NINE TIMES THE FIST OF IRON ROARED, NINE TIMES FOR EACH OF THEIR PAST WARS.

EIGHT TIMES THE FIST OF IRON SCREAMED, EIGHT TIMES FOR EACH OF THEIR HORRID DREAMS.

SEVEN TIMES THE FIST OF IRON SHOOK, SEVEN TIMES FOR THOSE WHO COULDN'T SEE.

SIX TIMES, SIX TIMES FOR YOU AND FOR ME.

FIVE TIMES THE SONG OF FIRE WAS SUNG, FIVE TIMES FOR THE FIVE MEN TO BE HUNG.

FOUR TIMES THE FIRE GREW AND BURNED, FOUR TIMES FOR EACH A THOUSAND SPOKEN WORDS.

THREE TIMES THE DRAGON CALLED FOR DEATH, THREE TIMES FOR EACH UNWANTED BREATH.

TWO TIMES THE DRAGON SCREAMED, FOR EACH CHILD WITH TEARS AS A STREAM.

THEN THE ONE TIME HIS HEART OF RAGE POUNDED, AND THE WORLD BECAME SILENT
