To the Introverted and Frightened Girl I Was

To the introverted, frightened girl I was:

It may sound generic but you need to know.

Things will fall into place.

There will be tears and loneliness.

But you need to know.

You are not alone.

You are brave and intelligent.

People do, in fact, appreciate you.

And I know confidence seems almost impossible.

But one day you’ll wake up happy.

You will be much stronger and independent.

You will laugh and make amazing memories.

Of course there will be unfortunate times but you will overcome them.

And help others in the process

So I want you to cheer up

Go out and smile brightly

Sincerely, you from the future.
