Interlude 1

Philippians 2:3    New English Translation

3 Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition[a] or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.

 Interlude 1

“God will help those who help themselves”

A phrase from hell, the devil’s copout to destroy compassion

To justify your indifference and your hardened perspective

To turn you into a selfish nut. I apologize to this creed in fashion

You live exactly only for yourself and in that, you're effective.

Activities of the will have to be put aside and be subdued

An obedient will is an answer to stop that selfish business

Even an obedient Will wills to struggle with God at times

Unless grace realizes its fullest work on the path to Holiness

Secret tendencies of the will need crushing

Even secrets kept from ourselves have no place in us

Our lives should be an open book where no guile is hidden

For foundations of hypocrisy are built on things like this

A harmonized will and an obedient one. How great is the difference?

Is obedience related to activity and harmonious life?

To nature and its tendencies to emotions and desires

To God Himself and His influence and in peace with Christ

Is harmonious in addition to one’s heart desires?

Is it not the foundation of peace and not understood?

Is it walking hand in hand with the Lord our Savior?

Is it through obedience that works for our own good?

But who doesn’t hold back a little and desires some?

Some honor, freedom and a little gold or joy, peace and position

And then some have no resistance to these tendencies of old

Does that mean no will of yourself underlines your condition?
