Inside the Sea

I sat alone inside the sea

Beneath a starlit surface,

Cool silence rushing through my skin

As I rested in this soft bliss.

I saw the stars up in the sky

Like fluid streaks of light;

I saw the dancing mist of moon

Piercing through the night.

All around me, blues and teals,

A million shades of crystal,

Streaked with iridescent greens

Like misty smoke from a pistol.

The luminescent specks above me

Reflected on the smooth stone below

Like stars above inside the sea

Producing a mystical glow.

I thought I should find inside the sea

All my worries shed,

Bliss, but alas, instead of this,

I found that I was dead.
