Inside The Purgatory

What if this IS hell,
Like we are told?
What if we are literally living Hell on Earth?
The forests are on fire.
Mother Earth is dying.
People choose hate. It was good for a while.
What if you were living what you thought to be Hell,
Yet you realize it was Heaven all along
And you finally find your soul
Only to watch as it's being consumed
By flames of dust coming from your bones.
There's not much you can do.
Life is so far out of reach.
And you witness this jumble of chaos.
It surrounds you
So you burrow deep.
Deep into the nothingness around you;
And you see.
And then the winds of reality
Blow the fog from your mind
And you dust yourself off,
And you stand straight,
And you live.
