Inside Me
Those swaying trees out in the field
Those birds singing their endless song.
These summer days seem so long.
The fireflies lighting the way,
The soft cricket sounds.
These summer nights are wonderfully gay*.
This peaceful state surrounds me
Swallowing me whole, taking every part of me.
My worries of the day flow into the wind, and I forget everything.
As I lay here in the grass, calm rain washes over me, taking my day with it.
I look around and see untimed beauty, I hear gentle whispers wrap around me, and tell me it’s
Okay.
They fill me with memories, I thought were long forgotten.
Happiness that I once felt when I was younger filled me through my soul, out onto my face.
I smile and remember the good things, and once again I am home.
