To The Inner Self

The lights come down to shine
The heat I felt, so divine
The roar descends at the call
And music is what starts it all

Gliding across the stage
Everyone smiles no matter the age
The place is dark nothing but black
Only two numbers until we are back

Heavy rush as time gets closer
Your stomach turns like a roller coaster
Stretch the muscles as so not to pull
Body is ready, and mind is full

As the others leave we get ready so start
This pounding sound coming from my heart
My ears begin to ring
The song begins to sing

We enter on, nothing but dark
All of us ready to do our part
Name is called ready one, two, three
My full potential, the dancer comes out in me.
