Inner City Peter Pan

A boy will leave Neverland today

He will trade in his little green cap and shirt
For baggy pants and a uniform rag
Where he used to sprinkle pixiedust to fly
He will now use cocaine to reach those heights

He will raise cap guns in gas stations where only the soda used to pop
Childish games of cops and robbers will cease to be just childish games

He will stop chasing the shadow he longed to sew on to his feet
That game of tag ended in the light of the morning sun just two days ago

A boy will leave Neverland today
To become a man
