Ink on Paper

I write for the intensity

My emotions in pen

My fears looking back at me

My lapse of rationality

My escape

I write for freedom

For the ability to scream silently

To love passionately

To weep without tears

I write for closure

About the girl who loved

About the boy who broke her heart

About the lost opportunities

About the mistake of trust

I write because the words speak

Like a scream within silence

Like hidden smile revealed

Like a voice to the broken

The words on the page are more than just ink on paper

The yearn to be understood like a riddle in ink

As I yearn to be understood and to understand
