How many years do you get on planet Earth?
How ‘bout, how do you measure the value of someone’s worth?
Your life might be limited by the confines of time.
But who knows of the change you can make with one rhyme?

Now look, I’m no musician, no rapper, can’t sing worth a damn.
But I care about people, so I thought of this crazy plan.
Spend part of my day, hoping to inspire.
Knowing that my efforts would be worth what I perspired.

There’s a lot problems out there on this planet
Like hunger, depression, and some hearts as cold as granite.
Now I appreciate the fact that you gave me a chance.
So take another minute and please listen to my stance.

If you want this world to become a better place,
Then I’m gonna tell ya now, straight up, face-to-face.
Make sure you add love to everything you do.
And I’m sure that will help someone to stop feeling blue.

Make sure to put others before yourself,
Make sure you put someone else’s heart on your shelf.
Take value in all the work that people do.
And eventually this world will have a better view.

Now come on man, it can’t be that difficult
Not even trying would be borderline criminal.
What could it hurt, to make one little change?
When there’s nothing to lose, and yet so much to gain?

There’s a lot misunderstandings, a lot hurt.
It makes people feel like they’re lower than the dirt.
One simple phrase, one “Please” or one “Thank you”
And you’ll walk away feeling much better too.

Newspapers here, hot off the presses.
Look at the world right after these basic lessons.
You are a part of the planet, until you are gone.
Make sure you go to bed better than awoke at dawn.

Now whether there’s more after this, I can’t say.
I guess I’ll just have to wait until the day.
If I go into the sky and I’m about to get judged.
I’m gonna make sure that my record ain’t smudged.

If the Almighty creator decides to reward me
Then I’ll be sure to get down on my knees.
If I am damned to hell for the things that I did
I’ll fight for my life and put in my bid.

Lord check out these lyrics, no bitches or hoes
Those things have been done and everybody knows
I’d rather take the high road, and fight for today
Than sink to that level and join the bums of yesterday.

I’ll admit I’m not perfect, that much is clear.
But how long did I have to wait here and live in fear?
I’ve made plenty of mistakes, and from those I have grown
At least I’m not the guy that’s controlling the drones.

We can all play our part in getting this plan approved.
The board is now set, it’s your opening move.
Let’s set a good example, let’s get in a groove.
To better the world, we’re the first that must improve.
