Imagine

Imagine:

Opening your eyes from a long, thoughtless sleep

to see darkness

Imagine:

Rising from the soft, dream-filled sheets

to meet nothingness

No golden rays threading through tree limbs

No streams of light glinting against windows

No sights of brilliance glittering in dewy grass

Morning, greeted by night.

Imagine:

Every hint of sunlight

plucked from the sky

The warm feel of daytime's breath

cloaked by Nyx's black fingers

Everything at once, turned to nothing

as daylight lays her head to rest

never to stir again.

Imagine:

A life without illumination

Without complexion

Without sweetness

A life without life.

Imagine.
