Distance kept us from seeing

Nothing keeps us from dreaming
It could be sooner or later
That I have her on my platter
Distance kept us from seeing

She is the one that holds me together
Without her I would go insane
Distance kept us from seeing

A sock without the other
Wouldn't be a pair
A call lasting hours throughout the stars
I keep her sane
Distance kept us from seeing

Timing is everything
Holding her in my mind with anything I have
Knowing has been a Rollercoaster
I would walk thousands of miles for the sight
For the sweet smell, The gentle touch

Distance kept us from seeing

This poem was created to tell people about how my girlfriend and I live so far away from each other but we are still holding on for our future together. We are two lesbians trying to find our way to one another but our families (mothers) keep us from seeing each other because of the "expenses" to drive from Texas to Alabama or from Alabama to Texas. I hope this poem will tell people that just because there is distance between doesn't mean it shouldn't or can't work because it can. The main things that make it work is conversation and believing that it will. Good luck.
