I'm black because I'm not considered white
I'm black because my hair's curled tight
I'm black because my great-grandmother worked hard for the life I got to live
I'm black because the country I came from a dark pigment the sun gives
I'm black because my skin defines me
I'm black because no white boy tries me
Hair's not straight, hips aren't small no tiny waist, and hair ain't long
Wonder why I can't be attractive to boys on campus
I've just decided that they can't handle us
I'm black...
