I'll Make A Difference
Location
I'm just a helpless girl,
In an almost ordinary world,
Who has been grabbed at by the throat by some of the world's 'other worldly' scences;
Let me tell you what I mean:
Government resources being cut off,
People going crazy,
Mothers and fathers paranoid and stressed put - becoming hypochondriacs,
Wondering how they will feed their babies.
Boys trying to be men,
Following the wrong examples - leading them to the 'pen',
Too many jail sentences and not enough graduations,
Because they are too stubborn and caught up in their ways to pick up pens.
Girls with promising futures,
Throwing their potential away to get high,
Believing and doing everything that they see on T.V.,
Their minds being conformed to the lie that their worth is no more than their breasts and thighs.
Grown men not taking care of responsibilities,
Impregnating girls right and left,
Leaving the mother to play the role of the father;
Someone should've kept his pants pulled up.
Women making certain names for themselves,
Doing all of the wrong things,
For what they think is love and the wrong kind of attention,
And then they wonder why those same boys and men call them horrible names.
Families turning their backs on each other,
What is happening to the human race?
Arguing, fighting, and stealing from each other,
I though home was supposed to be a safe and happy place?
A lot to take in at once,
Stop and look at the world around you,
So many problems with very little solutions,
But I'm just a helpless little girl! - What good could I do?
Yeah, I'm just a girl,
In a world that's far from perfect,
But one day I'll be a woman,
And I'll make the world a better place;
I'll make a difference.
