If you like my poems
Location
If you like my poems, let them
be a wish sputtered Into the distance
and is ever so slightly
able to clench, on the edge
of your hair, that stands up
as if your first love was there
caught in a stare, while your words
mumbled in a gasp for air;
Let it dare to leap, into the wave of a breeze
over the tide, Into the galaxy
hop scotching across the moons, trudging,
against their gravitational pull
hoping to hitch a ride with a comet
only to leave behind a frozen trail of tears
each, a bid farewell
and in between heartbeats
time will stop, to watch you
watch, millions of rose petals flood the shores
and among them, this pearl
Found only by a poets nose
So If you like my poems,
let them be as vast as the sea
(No! let them be
a canoe built by the Polynesians)
so you may explore
what sleeps beyond the sun
and see all that I have seen
Then people will say
you’re quite the cosmopolitan
though, not one ripened with tolerance
but one that feeds from canals stretching beneath the soil
wedding life and earth, so you may grow to live unfurl and be loved
because you love the wildness in human blood
that allows one to chart the seas and paint the sky
or fall to bended knees in search of a reply
its why no man gets left behind or why no women shall cry
if we are all to fall into the hands of the divine
This is why life, lives
