If You Must Have Faith

Location

Be still. Be resilient.
Do not bother God, for He is always busy.
If you must have faith, keep it safe in your lungs
Distend it with every uttered gasp,
Humble it with every sigh.

Spill your prayers onto slabs of ice and
let them gleam and melt and disappear tomorrow.

I know you have doubts scratching at your tongue.
Be still. Be resilient.
Puncture those lungs, and
release everything.
