If We Never Met

There would be an emptiness

I had never felt before

I would suddenly awaken

fearfully in the dead of night

I would forever be finding a void

throughout my searching in the world

I would not where I am for

I would be swept into a whirlwind

of emptiness and indecision that

would haunt me into a life of ruin.

However, this has not come to be

for God has kindled true light into my life.

He opened my eyes and sealed my soul in true Love

and for almost sixty years we have lived as one.

In my old age there is no reason for me to fear

if we had never met!

My dear precious wife:

I love you.
