If Only She Listened...

He looked, She looked away
He smiled, She thought
Each day, the same thing
But one day She looked, If only she knew this was a mistake
But He was there.. still smiling
He smiled and was friendly, She smiled back
It was a nice feeling, She was as happy as the sun on a summer day
Why? She never expected this
Now they both smiled, looking at each other
She was happy,
He was happy,
Each day, the same thing
She wondered why She looked away at the start
How could She have done that?
He was wonderful
Or so She thought
She quickly became aware of other things unknown before, and She frowned
These things were not horrible,
But were simply things She didn’t like
His smile was bright, but “one may smile, and smile, and be a villain”
She questioned her thoughts
And they told her She was right from the beginning
If only She had listened.
Now, He looked again and smiled,
And although tempted, she looked away
