If I were to....

If I were to die today
I would not mind one bit
For death is a natural thing
So why should I fear it?

If I were to die today
I wouldn’t put up a fight
I’d slip away unworried
About what I’m leaving behind.

If I were to die today
I would have no regrets
I am not tied down to this world
Like some of the others I’ve met.

If I were to die today
I don’t think I’d be sad
Heaven is so good compared
To this world so full of bad.

If I were to die today
I don’t think I’d hate to go
Others may try to pull me down
Or maybe they wouldn’t even know.

If I were to die today
There’s one last thing I’d do.
I’d write down 3 words for all to read:
“I Love You.”

If I were to live today
I suppose I’d be just fine.
Who said I had to die today?
Maybe it just isn’t my time.

But whether I live or die today,
Today will go by just as fast.
So, as long as I’m alive,
I’m gonna live every day like it’s my last.
