I Wrote A Poem
I wrote a great poem,
Then wasted it on you,
I should have just written,
About violets being blue,
I lost a poem,
For a letter to a lover,
Won't mean the same,
To any other,
You pretended to like it,
But once alone, you snuffed,
What I worked so hard on,
Just wasn't enough,
I ripped open my heart,
Let it bleed on the page,
Then you threw it in the fire,
And watched the flames rage,
I gave you my heart,
I wish I could sue,
I wrote a great poem,
Then wasted it on you.
