I Write to Remember...

I write to remember the story of a girl

who knew how cruel life was at a very young age.

Who, even though knew about all these bad things, still believed

she could achieve a dream.

People laughed, teased, bullied her

said this dream wasn't hers to chase

they said she wasn't anyone therefore couldn't amount to anything.

I write to remember the stubbornness of this girl and how she just wouldn't listen to these people

she had called friends.

I write to remember how she lost these so called friends chasing a dream she thought

to be hers to chase.

I write to remember how even though she hasn't yet achieved her dream

she has come along way from where she once was.

I write to remember to tell this story the son of a girl who chased a dream she called

hers no matter what obstacles were thrown at her.

I write to tell a story of not giving up.
