I Write For Me
Location
I began writing,
As a child,
Bearing sorrow of mother's absence,
I was damaged, but content and mild.
I fell in love,
With poets and poetry,
I promise to always write,
My own personal decree.
My darkest secrets,
My deepest hurt,
The worst of my pain,
Appear suddenly in words.
I write to feel,
So I won't be silent,
I write instead of cry,
It's a way for me to vent.
I inscribe my profound thoughts,
So I won't conform to society,
I loathe a world that's all the same,
If uniqueness is sinful, then I must be.
I do not write for others,
I do not write to please,
I do not write for acceptance,
I simply write for me.
