I have never been comfortable wth breasts and hips,

much less in my own skin.

Always "one of the boys",

I never thought twice about being a tom boy.

Until the age of 8 I didn't care that my parts were different,

we just liked the same things.

I wish that I were a boy.

So maybe I wouldn't feel so strange wearing prom dresses,

and high heels.

I kept hoping that I could wear baggy clothes and maybe no one would notice.

I hide behind her make up while she lives my life.

I am the one who loves football and wrestling,

fist fights and ninja turtles.

I don't see love in gender.

It's a matter of heart kind of thing.

If I were a boy, I'd be just as confused.

But if I were a boy, maybe I could stop pretending.
