I Was Once

I was once, naive

I was once, vulnerable

I was once, gullible

I was frolicked, scarred, mangled, and flawed

I was also extremely misplaced and invisible

I felt this for a long amount of time

This is because I found things in life, important

But they ultimately were not, now that I am grown

I am now grown because rivalry is not the most important thing in high school

I am now grown because at the end of the day, you only have yourself

I am now grown because blood isn’t thicker than water

I am now grown because I see the world in its true form

I am now grown because I realize we have everything we could need and others do not

I am now grown because today could be your last day and being negative that day, isn’t right

I am now grown because love doesn’t have time

I am now grown because making fun of those who can’t help how they are, or who they are is absolutely horrendous

I am now grown because I have truly blossomed into one of the best people that I know today
