I woke up uglier than Boo Radley
After a night of feeling like Mary Tyler Moore.
He told me it was over with the exact same voice
That said he loved me the night before.

Burning, grumbling discomfort all day
I could hardly sit still or keep my eyes dry
I had to let it out, but nobody understood
how I fell in love with that type of guy.
So I had to paint the story vividly
before rejection contorted my mind.

I can't hold a paintbrush and soon
the crayons laid broken like my chest organ.
I wanted to be a sixties superstar
but I became Boo Radley with a pen.
