I Stand For…

For we are in here in peace

Hair and grease

For we hold up our fist

Pass the fish and grits

For we stand for justice

Even when it's just us

For we love without color

Spreadin' butter

For we groove in any mood

Good ol soul food

For we laugh to cure the pain

Sugar cane

For we dance to shake the blues

Tall glass of kool-aid and ice cubes

For we smile in our hearts

They can never tear us apart

For we are black people

All we know is equal
