I Simply Can't Live Without It

I could say that all I needed was something like a book,

I could even say that I couldn’t live without food to cook.

There are many things that I have said I couldn’t live without,

Realistically, however, I’d have to twist my brain in order to come up with something that would make me shout,

Make me shout, “I need it!” and without it I would be edging towards a brink,

I couldn’t live without my wi-fi, and it’s not for the reasons you think.

The reason I would hold it so dear,

Will now be made clear.

The fact that something I can’t even see,

Can somehow connect me to my friends and my family,

Will never cease to baffle me.

While browsing the internet is lots of fun,

I would also use the wi-fi to listen to someone.

With the wi-fi I can possess something that would be difficult to live without,

I can possess the power to listen to music online or download it to listen to now.

I don’t want the wi-fi for social media,

I want the wi-fi because of my idea,

The idea that I can use one simple service,

I can do so many things with something so conservative.

I’m not saying this as an internet-addicted teen,

Though Heaven knows, that does describe me.

I’m saying this one thing would be the most logical to keep,

And also, to be honest, it’s fairly cheap.
