I See it Now

As I was walking I noticed the things I had never seen before
Like the way the tile on the floor leads you to walk in circles
Like how the tables and chairs are turned slightly in your direction
I saw the chip in the tile at your feet
Probably caused by someone's confidence in their stride
And i noticed how the morning sunlight that was seeping in through the windows gave life to the room
I saw the darkness that was creeping in the corners
It folowed you around the room in circles
Watching to see if you would brush your fingers across the crack in the floor
Or if you would raise your arms up and try to catch some of the light in your calloused hands
You did not
You kept your head low, eyes to the ground
And kept walking in circles
