I See

Location

Through the trees

I see

the world changing,

the slash-and-burn rhythm

of the falling grass

and the burning weeds.

Through the window

I see

the world changing,

the clanging sorrow

of nature’s destruction

and the banging of building.

Through the lens

I see

the world changing,

the constant construction

of cold hard giants

and the fall of the humble.

Through the eyes of others

I see

the world changing,

the games and the profiting

of those who want

and the silence of those who need.

Through my visions

I see

the world changing,

the earth being loved

by those who once tore it apart

and the unity of all who walk on it.

Through compassion

I see

the world changing,

the coming together

of enemies

and the love that was once forbidden.
