I See

I see two hundred students line the hall.

I see thirty teachers waiting in class.

I see a mix, young and old, all ready.

I see a wondrous sight beyond the glass.

I see a row of students in the arts;

I see one in science and one in math.

I see each student wants to do their part.

I see each wants to be on the right path.

Yet I see desks that no student calls home,

And I see students that don’t go to school.

I see eyes without want under the dome,

And I see children at home or at the pool.

Learning and schools help children to be bright.

But when they never come? That just ain’t right!
