I Saw the Sun

I saw the sun today
And he said "hi"
Greeted me with his one thousand
watt smile as he shined my path for
me
He didn't say much besides that
And I well, heck, neither did I
At the end of my walk I bid him
farewell and walked inside

I saw the rain today
They were yelling with joy at being
free, even if just for a few seconds
Some decided to stay with me for a
while,
And I couldn't say no.
There were so many of these little
fellows, the sky was darkened by them
Blocking the sun

I saw the moon tonight.
Boy, was she beautiful as ever
Glowing and smiling at me so
serenely, her children stars blinking
back at her happily
I wondered where the sun could be?
After all, they both seemed like they
would get along
She smiled one last time as I got into
bed
Sheltering me with her light
