I remember when penny's were big,
And quarters couldn't fit into my hand.
I remember when My feet didn't touch the floor,
When I sat in a chair.

I remember when the pool was the ocean,
And the kiddy pool was too deep.
I remember when the ocean was terrifying,
And could swallow me whole.

I remember when door knobs,
Were just out of my reach.
I remember when my bed was too big,
And I could drown in my comforter.

I remember when my cup,
Was a pint.
I remember when planes,
Were magically flying dragons.

I remember when I could see my mother's legs,
And found them a safe place to hide.
I remember when computers were for grown ups,
And made no sense.

I remember when my house,
Was too big to explore.
I remember when rings,
Never fit my finger.

I remember when I could fit into every nook and cranny,
And scare anyone who walked by.
I remember thinking the printer was a monster,
And ran from it every time it started up.

I remember when school was much simpler,
And two plus two equaled twenty two.
I remember when pencils were awkward,
And too big to hold.

I remember when two dollars was a lot,
Although I could never buy anything.
I remember when candy was only for after diner,
And for Christmas and Halloween.

I remember when we would sing in school,
And not care if we were tone deaf.
I remember when I wanted to grow up,
And be superman.

I remember when dreams were reality,
And I was asked to day dream.
I remember when life was much simpler,
And nothing really mattered.

Now that I'm older,
Nothing is the same.
I miss being a child,
Although I wished to be older back then.

Now that I'm older,
I never bother with lose change.
Now that I'm older,
Chairs are too small.

Now that I'm older,
The pool is a puddle.
Now that I'm older,
The ocean is my escape.

Now that I'm older,
Hardly anything is out of my reach.
Now that I'm older,
My bed is too small.

I drink as much as I can hold.
Now that I'm older,
I know the aeronautics behind the lift of a plane.

Now that I'm older,
My room is the safest place in the world.
Now that I'm older,
Computer's are a teenager's domain.

Now that I'm older,
I know my house by heart.
Now that I'm older,
I wear my high school class ring.

Now that I'm older,
I can't hide in small spaces anymore.
Now that I'm older,
The printer is still the devil.

Now that I'm older,
School is much harder.
Now that I'm older,
Pencils are a dime a dozen.

Now that I'm older,
I worry about not getting enough income from my job.
Now that I'm older,
I can buy anything I can afford.

Now that I'm older,
Candy is breakfast, lunch, and diner.
Now that I'm older,
Tone deaf people must be silenced.

Now that I'm older,
I want to be an anthropologist.
Now that I'm older,
Dreams are forbidden.

Now that I'm older,
I wish to be younger.
To not have a care in the world,
And only worry about what's for diner.

Now that I'm older,
I miss all of the freedom I had,
When I was much smaller.
Now that I'm older.

And worst of all,
Now that I'm older,
Boy's are no longer gross,
And puberty sucks.

I have to know everything,
If I hope to pass with a C.
I have to be responsible,
For every slacker in my group.

Now that I'm older,
I miss the days of my youth.
Now that I'm older,
I miss the magic the world used to have.
