I Loved You

I loved you

It was plain

And Simple

All could see

A passion

Spark

A fire

You were lightin’ within me

The wind stopped blowin’

And changed directions

With this new change

Came a loss of affections

If things ain’t the same

That means that they’re changin’

And if you ain’t effecting the change

It’s not in your favor

The flavor of my love came with a hint of jealousy

Cause you sorta loved me too

But hey, just cause you failed to see

The pain you were causin’ me

It’s no need for a riot

Cause when I was sufferin’ I was keeping quiet

I watched you love him

Told you I supported it

Regret eating my words

Cause they were full of shit

Sometimes the weight of the words left unsaid

Made me crumble

Collapse

Wish that I was dead

You pulled me back from the abyss

For that I’m eternally grateful

But this unrequited love got me feeling a lil hateful

So we beat ceaselessly into the past

My other regret, some words

They’ll probably be our last

If you taught me anything

I’m guessin’ that it’s this

If you love a girl tell her

Cause the sands of time keep fallin’

As you’re fallin’ for her

Hold on to all those moments

Cause one day they’ll just be a blur

Don’t try replacing her with another

Don’t let her call you her brother

Cause then she’s lookin’ after you

And not lookin’ at you

Don’t hide how you feel

Cause she’ll start believin’ the lie

Then soon enough your chance passes by

Then you’re not lovers intertwined

Like you once envisioned

You’re alone at the keyboard

A boy lamenting his failed ambition
