As I lay in your lawn
I am not grass.
You cannot plant me
To then cut me down.
I am not a lawn.
I am not a plant
anchored by roots.
I fly across the sky.
I am not their lawn.
I am a dandelion seed.
I soar across the sky
Like the breezy wind.
I am not your lawn.
I am not something
To be pruned and cut.
Stop cutting me!
I am not her lawn.
Weeds, oh you
under-loved weeds.
I am you! I am wild!
I am not his lawn.
The garden lends me
Its ears.
It hears my complaint
As I lay in the lawn.
