I keep my head down,

I keep my head down,

I keep my mouth closed.

In all my life ive never been,

myself, i suppose.

I am a contradiction,

not one self-imposed.

My mind is spinning, perpetually alive,

my heart;

ambitious with its everlasting yearn to thrive.

But its my actions that are tame,

everything always mundane.

My outside is at war with whats within,

the walls between the two getting thin.

What will they think if im turned inside out?

They've always choosen what it is im all about.

DawnP

The flower that will not its blossom raise,

To meet the infinite sky above its head,

For fear of being burned by scorching rays,

Is not too far from wilting away into nothing.

Take today, lift your head so the galaxy may know,

And see you for your true self as you are,

Fear not whay lies above or creeps deep below,

Because you will be crtiticized regardless,

Of whether or not you choose to live well.
