I don't think so.

She set down her drink
No one heard her cries
He seemed nice at first
She fell into his lies

It was her first night out with some friends from class
Could have been studying, but thought she could pass
A crooked smile on his face
His touch had felt inviting and sweet
"Let me get you something to drink"
And innocently she accepted.
She's riddled with defeat.

She set down her drink
No one heard her cries
He seemed nice at first
She fell into his lies

They laughed and they danced and enjoyed their night
Not knowing she'd have to fight
Wasn't sure if being drunk felt like this
Or if there was something she might have missed
The first mistake was trustworthiness
She had lost.
No longer screaming, filled up with exhaust.
Curiosity filled the start of her night
Now she was in bed with a monstrosity

She set down her drink
No one heard her cries
He seemed nice at first
She fell into his lies

With tears of anger, fright, and frustration
He had left her filled with a dark, black hatred
For him, and herself
And for anyone who "slut shames" the
Girls who had no say.
She the wondered how many out there held that bouquet
The ones that were made up of fear and hatred
Of everyone that stood by and watched as they faded.

Sometimes people don't publicize those things because they are scared
Sometimes they aren't publicized because of media
But I, along with many others, feel the need to stand up for them
Not sure if it's because I have a little sister,
Or if I'm tired of being cat-called by pervs,
Or if I want to feel safe walking home late at night;
Maybe all of the above.
But it shouldn't matter why; it needs to stop.
Think if it was your sister or daughter;
Would you want him to get away with it if it was her?
Let the media erase it?
Let her believe it was her fault?
Hate herself because of them?

How would you feel if your daughter or sister was violated?
Would you say "It was her clothes" or "She was intoxicated"?

I don't think so.
