I Could Be

Maybe I’ll be a doctor
That helps patients get better,
Or maybe a meteorologist,
Who brings you today’s weather.
Maybe I’ll be a Chef
That can cook a five star meal,
Or maybe the next host
On that game show with the wheel.
I guess I could be a teacher,
Or a ninja, or the mayor,
But that would rule out my career
As a world class croquet player.
I could become an accountant
To learn how to spend my money right
But then again who needs that,
When you could create a social networking site.
I could be a ballerina
Or a dentist or a cop,
I’ve always thought it would be fun,
Opening a snow cone shop.
Flying hot air balloons
Would be pretty neat,
I could be a genius like the guy who created s’mores,
That gooey and delicious treat.
I could find a cure for cancer
Or tame lions at the zoo,
I have been kind of wanting
To start a backup dancing crew.
I think I have some good options,
But it’s just so hard to choose,
No matter what job I end up selecting
I know I cannot lose.
The future is unknown,
So all I can do is strive,
To work my hardest until I find
A job that changes lives.
