I Can't Watch This

I can’t watch this

As the first building goes up in flames

A camera records “it’s such a shame”

Says the Reporter as she struggles to remember the name

Of the owner, now afraid as her life falls but she remains

And out of the smoke, a man dressed in black

Out of breath so he wears a mask

Out of time, so he starts to attack

“These people are a danger to the force”

So they’re forced to move

And in the distance stands a camera crew

They’re afraid there’s nothing they can do

As the bullets continue to drop on cue

Another victim falls on the follow-through

You say “burn it down!” but what good will that do

You say “stand up and fight!” but sit down when they tell you to

Violence isn’t the answer, but sometimes it’s an excuse

What the fuck can you say to the ones put there to defend you

I can’t watch this

And we hear on the radio of another fatality

All caused by the same destructive personalities

It isn’t fair, it’s police brutality

It’s too much power and the badge as a formality

The man isn’t getting you down, he’s laying it thin

Making sure you don’t even think to start to sin

They say he’s dropping bombs and flashing the same grin

But that’s just how the motherfucking record spins.

Everyones saying omg it’s so terrible

I'm sure sitting on your couch is unbearable

While the only town with the balls to protest gets covered in swat

You’re fighting back with your well informed opinion, are you not?

I have to watch this
