I Believe.
I believe that I am lost.
I believe that everyone has once been lost.
I believe that I don’t need to be found,
Because one day I will find myself, and maybe I’ll stick around.
I believe in the second star to the right,
That an eternal faith can sweep me away in the night.
I do believe in Fairies, I do, I do.
But I doubt that having trust is easy to do.
I believe that every day is a new day,
That the rising of the sun will keep my fears at bay.
Though, sometimes, I’m sure that I’m not good enough,
That my sky is falling and I don’t know what to do.
I believe that everyone is equal,
No matter how they’re shaped inside.
I believe that if you’re meant to fly,
All you have to really do is try.
I believe in love at first sight,
In dancing away the endless night.
I believe in chance encounters, and pre-midnight strolls,
In losing a shoe as the bells toll.
I believe that everybody is a little strange,
That everyone is unique in his or her own little way.
And even though I’m mad as a hatter,
I can see that all our differences don’t matter.
I believe in destiny,
In finding my way through the fog and the mist.
Like when King Arthur reclaimed his throne,
I believe we’ll all find a place of our own.
I don’t believe in social status.
I’ll sit where I please,
with whom I please,
when I please,
and I’ll remain quite at ease.
I believe in our inalienable rights,
And that if you’ve been wronged you should put up a fight.
I believe justice prevails for the good,
And that times have changed, so our ideas must advance too.
I believe in the spirit of friendship
That love lasts forever no matter the struggles.
That whispers, and giggles, and laughter, and joy
Will live in our memories like childhood toys.
I believe in the need to be free,
To make my own decisions.
I believe in my judgment,
And I believe that I need to live my life, for me.
I believe that the footprints of those before us,
Are just an outline or guide.
Eventually we make our own path,
And leave our footprints behind.
I believe that I am a match for any man.
And I know that a man will not define me.
I believe in fighting for those I love,
In fighting for what I believe
I believe in moving on,
From mistakes, from the past, from what we’ve done wrong.
I don’t mean to leave it all behind,
But I believe that I need to learn from what I’ve done and keep walking on.
I believe in the benefits of hard work,
Strong will, and dedication.
That if you put in the effort,
You will reap your reward.
I believe in everyday heroes.
That we all have the power to make a change,
And so I believe we all have the responsibility,
To make that change.
I believe that I need to just follow my heart.
I may still be lost,
But lost is a great place to start.
