I am lost in introspection

Thu, 11/05/2015 - 19:57 -- jmh17

It's dark from where I stand

Slowly sinking in quicksand

Watching them all fall down

The trees

The ones who always reassured me

I was safe and sound

The walls

They also crumble

The walls that kept me humble

Everything is crashing around me

The birds begging to be set free

The ones who chirped away

All the thoughts that caused my mind to decay

My perfect little world

Lost to the greed of the seas

The seas

That are now encased around me

Flooding in

Foot by foot

It's getting harder to keep my head above water

The waves

They continue to slaughter

Soon it shall trickle down my lungs

Similar to when I was young

Then engulf my tongue

So no words are released

So I can't scream as an escape

from this beast named uncertainty

Until

I find clarity
