I search

somewhere

inside myself

and find myself

beyond myself.

Poetry, prose, paragraph, rhyme --

these structures may be used or transcended

to express my thoughts, dark or sublime,

defined sharply or subtly blended.

I tug at a weed, surprised to find

that roots run deep within my mind.

I climb upwards, surprised to know

that the rope runs higher than I can go.
