I Am From

I am from Catholic School, sporting events, and extra curriculars.

I am from sweaty shin guards and goalie gloves, teen titans and plaid.

I am from books that take you on adventures

and pizza for dinner on practice nights.

I am from homemade pierogies and sauerkraut,

that carry on a family tradition.

I am from the glistening stars in the night sky, guiding my decisions when I ask why.

I am from the unknown, the fearless, the brave

who always seem to break down when things are grave.

I am from parents that could be my friend's grandparents.

I am from late nights at school, enhancing my theatrical abilities, and late nights studying to pass my classes.

I am from leadership opportunities that arise because of my skills.

I am from a family that cares about my endeavors, and doesn’t hesitate to give their support.

I am from a loud family, that knows everyone wherever they go.

I am from long summers, spent with family at parties and by the beach.

I am from an area that is financially struggling, but somehow we manage to overcome our obstacles for the betterment of our family.

I am from memories.

Without them I would not know who I am today.
