Hurricane

Job 38:4

God’s questions to Job

“Where were you
when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you possess understanding.

Job 38:8-11

“Who shut up the sea with doors

when it burst forth, coming out of the womb,
9 when I made the storm clouds its garment,
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10 when I prescribed its limits,
and set in place its bolts and doors,
11 when I said, ‘To here you may come
and no farther,
here your proud waves will be confined’?

Hurricane

A storm moving in ... finally touching land

Winds are high and rains are much ... God has things in hand.

Folks do all the tracking ... figuring the ways

of what problems the storm may bring in its final days.

Storms of life are raging ... day and night it seems.

The only folk who notice ... are the ones caught in its streams.

To some these storms bring blessings ... and to others, they seem a curse.

To some an exercise of Holiness ... for others just a hearse.

Rivers then are rising ... running out their banks.

Panic all around ... when nature takes its course.

Man stands by helpless ... wringing frozen hands

not learning any lessons ... neither showing remorse.

Is God up there just marveling ... at the stubbornness of sin?

He must have known in advance ... of the rottenness within.

Still, He gave His life ... for us to enter in

His Eternal Presence ... through Jesus Christ, the King.
