Humanity

Wed, 07/31/2024 - 10:20 -- Caliope

A human life

What is it worth?

What makes the self different?

A human thought

How much is it worth?

How do we treat it?

Freedom found,

Now drowned

Cast aside

Without a sound

Human life

Proven worth much

Oft not treated as such

Differences shunned

Yet the world isn't stunned

We value vile conformity

Human thought

Never tame

Yet we suppress it just the same

Only one opinion is "true"

Kept to the self

Hoarded like boxes on a shelf

We keep them from judging eyes

Our world
