Human Nature

Nature sang loud

But was killed with a can

Used to sing proud

But was silenced by man

Water ran wild

Shaping the land

Til phone was dialed

No helping hand

Grass never bowed

But was tamed by machine

Used to sing proud

But they altered its gene

Dirt was dirt

Pure and clean

Landfill with shirt

Ruined its spleen

Wind never a shroud

Now a thickened mess

Used to sing proud

Smothered by...guess

Mother nature vowed

But broken was yin and yang

She used to sing proud

But dangerous was our fang

Nature of the animals

Simple, raw, and freeing

Our nature makes us cannibals

Evil, shackled, and unseeing

Our world
