How to find Hope?

Everything is lost;

All around

Not a cry is heard,

Not a single sound.

Disbelieving stares

And watery eyes

Look around

As what's left dies.

All is grey,

All is bleak,

Even the most confident's

Heart starts to sink.

They have all lost

What they can't afford to lose

And nothing's left

They have to choose.

They have to choose

Between Life and Death.

They have to say

What they would never have said.

They have to see

What sight hides.

They have to know

What knowledge stupefies.

They have to accept

What they can never buy.

Because behind the curtain

Of smoke and ash

Is a golden road

Leading them back.
