How to survive and find a path in the swamp called existence?

Every step you try to take ... you know will bog you down.

Your strength is gone and all that’s left ... is a little persistence.

How did you get here at all ... with no way left but to drown?

It started with some dreams in youth ... when the sky seemed the limit.

I guess there was no sense at all ... that reality soon would scream.

I hid my head like an ostrich does ... in a pool of senseless gimmicks

until the day that I woke up ... to be separated from my dreams.

I find the world around ... locked up in a deep sleep

The kind that you can’t escape ... unless the end is shown.

There is no chance of waking ... from this transformed condition

for hypnotized by their own hearts ... they’re always spiraling down.

Only the Spirit of Jesus can sound a wakeup call.

He is The One and only ... Who tolerates man’s sleep and rest.

Seems so simple this solution ... but who will go and show the world

that the sleep that they’re enjoying...  will end in hate and death.
